Candido L. Vazquez of Riverhead died June 13, 2012 at Riverhead Care Center. He was 81 years old.
The owner of a barber shop in Riverhead, Vazquez was a native of Yonkers. He was born Dec. 28, 1938, the son of Candido G. and Mary (Maron) Vazquez.
Vazquez served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953, and was honorably discharged as with the rank of private first class.
He is survived by his wife Mona (nee Lundquist), his daughter Ingrid, of Riverhead, and a sister, Helen, of Northport.
Funeral service and interment took place June 19 at Calverton National Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home in Riverhead.
