Addie Louise Edwards, of Riverhead, died July 24, 2012 at Stony Brook University Medical Center. She was 81 years old.
She was born Nov. 11, 1930 in Aurora, North Carolina to Herman Edwards and Elva Gertrude Wiggins. She worked as a laundry worker at Strebel's Laundry, Inc. in Quiogue, NY.
She was predeceased by her son, Jonathan Kramer Edwards, who died in 1988. She is survived by her three sons, Willie Marcellus Edwards, Steven Edwards and Daryl Edwards, her brothers, Arlinla Earl Edwards, Sr. and Floyd Howard Edwards, Sr., her sisters, Melvine Bernice Roberts and Elva B. Mitchell, and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held at Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home July 28, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. officiated by Reverend A. Charles McElroy. Interment followed at Riverhead Cemetery.
