Garrett W. Jackson, of Riverhead, died April 10, 2014 at his home. He was 60 years old.

Born in Riverhead May 13, 1953, he was the son of William and Virginia (Harris) Jackson. He grew up in Riverhead, attending Riverhead public schools and graduating from Riverhead High School in 1971.

Jackson worked at Stony Brook University Hospital for 29 years, working in instructional support in the radiology department.

He married Roseann Ranaldo in 2002.

Jackson loved music and loved to sing, his wife said. “He had a great voice.” He enjoyed drawing, was a fan of “old muscle cars” and more than anything else, loved being outdoors, she said. “Fishing, working around the yard, if it was outside, he loved it,” she said.

Roseann Jackson expressed gratitude for the staff at Stony Brook University Hospital. “They loved him so much. They were so helpful and so supportive,” she said.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his brothers, Bruce Simpson and Ralph Mcloud and by his sisters, Mary Ann Braunskill, Dana T. Braunskill and Evette Simpson. He is also survived by two uncles, two aunts and many cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, Gerald Braunskill.

The family will receive visitors on Saturday, April 12, from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Sunday, April 13, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Reginal H. Tuthill Funeral Home, 206 East Main St., Riverhead. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 14 at Galilee Church of God in Christ, the Rev. Roy Pennon officiating. Interment will follow at Riverhead Cemetery.
