Peter Blasl, RiverheadLOCAL's award-winning photojournalist, is a lifelong resident of the East End of Long Island. He loves shooting nature: birds, animals, flowers, and the scenic vistas of the East End. He also loves shooting sports, especially football, baseball, lacrosse, wrestling and auto racing. He's also a newshound and has a knack of somehow being in the thick of it when news happens. He's won New York Press Association awards for spot news, sports action and feature photos.

"I'm so lucky that what I do for a living is also my favorite hobby. I love being able to capture a moment in time, to share how I see something with other people."
