A man who prosecutors said had four prior DWI convictions was arrested on driving while intoxicated and other charges at about 4 a.m. this morning.

Police said they stopped a 1999 Nissan pickup truck driven by Paul Hubley, 45, of Riverhead, on Lewis Street and determined him to be intoxicated.

A car driven by a 19-year-old Locust Valley man was broadsided by a Lexus sedan at the intersection of Ostrander Avenue and Second Street early Tuesday afternoon.

The young man, Michael Consalato, said he had just left the aquarium where he went for a shark dive and was driving his father's Cadillac southbound on Ostrander Avenue. A Lexus sedan driven by Lois Reeve, no name or address provided, was eastbound on Second Street at about 1 p.m. and hit the passenger side of Consalato's vehicle, police at the scene said.

No summonses were issued in the incident, according to police.

Reeve was transported by Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps to Peconic Bay Medical Center for treatment of lacerations to the the knee, police said.

The Riverhead man accused of robbing a Polish Town shop last night is being held in lieu of $100,000 cash bail following his arraignment in Riverhead Justice Court this morning.

Nicholas Savino, 33, entered International Connection on Osborn Avenue shortly before 8:45 p.m., brandishing a handgun and demanding money.

The 17-year-old boy accused of firing several rounds from a shotgun on Raynor Avenue last night was held in lieu of $250,000 cash bail following his arraignment in Riverhead Justice Court this morning.

Riverhead Town Justice Richard Ehlers signed an order of protection requiring Nathan Streit to stay away from the woman injured in the shotgun blast, as well as her son and a third person involved in an altercation with Streit prior to the shooting.
