
Riverhead Rotary Club president Ron Farnworth installed the new president of the Riverhead Interact Club, Megan Conroy, on Wednesday, Nov. 30 at Riverhead High School.
Interact is Rotary International’s service club for young people ages 12 to 18. Each Interact club is sponsored by a local Rotary Club. Riverhead Rotary sponsors the Riverhead Interact Club, which meets every Wednesday at the high school. Carol Kirchoff is the Interact Club advisor.
Each year, the Interact club completes at least two community service projects, one of which furthers international understanding and goodwill.

As one of the most significant and fastest-growing programs of Rotary service, with more than 10,700 clubs in 109 countries and geographical areas, Interact has become a worldwide phenomenon. Almost 200,000 young people are involved in Interact, with about 40 high school students involved in the Riverhead Interact Club.
Riverhead Rotary Club is one of the largest Rotary Clubs on Long Island. Its members are among the international organization's 1.2 million around the globe committed to Rotary's guiding principle: "Service Above Self."
Rotarians volunteer at home and abroad to support education and job training, provide clean water, combat hunger, improve health and sanitation and eradicate polio. Riverhead Rotary proudly supports scholarships, soup kitchens, literacy programs, Peconic Bay Medical Center, the community garden and a host of other charitable causes in the Riverhead community. Its members have volunteered locally and abroad to help others in need with medical care and facilities, construction of schools and infrastructure to help provide clean drinking water to the many regions of the world lacking this basic need.
