The students in Mrs. Mirabell’s second-grade class at St. Isidore School in Riverhead collected blankets and towels as donations for the Riverhead Animal Shelter.
The students were thrilled to be able to contribute to an organization in their own community, said Alexandra Conlan of St. Isidore School. "It was a great lesson in charity and good citizenship."
