The Riverhead varsity wrestling team lost a tough match to Comsewoge Wednesday, 60-24.
Pat Thomas (135) of Riverhead had another great match. Thomas wasted no time pinning his opponent, John Grusso (pictured above.)
Thomas says he has his sights set on the state championship.
Other Waves who pinned their opponents Wednesday were Ethan Zaweski (103) vs Ray James, and Mario Carrera (160) vs Ryan Brunet.
Christian Krumbiegel (130) beat Russ Pisano , 11-7 and Gabe Rice (140) beat Paul Young, 6-4.
Riverhead’s next match is away in Bellport 1/21/11 JV starts at 4 p.m., varsity at 6 p.m.
