Riverhead Police report a burglary at the Jamesport Mini Mart at the gas station on the corner of Main Road, and Washington Avenue in Jamesport early Sunday morning.

Police responded to an automatic alarm activation at the convenience store at 1:36 a.m. on Dec. 20, according to a police report. Responding officers discovered that the front glass door had been broken and the business had been burglarized, according to the report.

A search for the suspect that included a K9 track was negative, police said. The owner of the business responded and reported that cigarettes and money were stolen.

The convenience store was burglarized on July 25, when someone broke the glass door to gain entry and stole cigarettes, coins and lottery tickets, according to police at that time. Police have not announced any arrest in that incident.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone who may have information about this incident is requested to contact the Riverhead Police Department at (631) 727-4500.
