Sunny, warm and humid weather will be with us all week in the run-up to Labor Day Weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

Repaving work has resumed on Flanders Road between Oak Avenue and the traffic circle, and will continue during the overnight hours for the next couple of weeks, resulting in some lane closures. A single lane of traffic in each direction will be kept open. The work is scheduled to take place between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Single seniors, take note: Riverhead Free Library is hosting a senior singles meet-and-greet at The All-Star Wednesday from 1 to 2:30 p.m.

Eastern Long Island Quilters Guild is holding a “Back to School Night” Wednesday, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the George Young Community Center in Jamesport, with demonstrations of various projects. It’s free and open to the public.

What’s that noise? A fireworks display for a private party at the Baiting Hollow Golf Club is scheduled for Wednesday night at dusk.

Get your game on! Adults 17 and older are invited to a game night at Riverhead Free Library. Enjoy an evening of board games and card games. Bring your own or play the ones on hand. Friday, Sept. 4, from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
